Upgrade to Ehdaa Historial Site

The project consists of rehabilitating and upgrading the Arbour and Tepee at the Ehdaa Historical Site, in Fort Simpson (Northwest Territories). The project scope consists of treating the poles of the Tepee, landscaping around the Tepee along with installing solar lighting. In addition, the project includes rebuilding the Arbour to increase the quality of the community’s cultural infrastructure. The project will result in improved lifespan of the assets and allow for the commemoration of the unique history, culture and traditions of the Indigenous community. The site will exist as a secure place for the local Indigenous community to celebrate and strengthen their cultural identity, as well as celebrating Indigenous history, Indigenous art, commemorative and awareness days and success stories.
