Upgrade Wastewater Plant

This project will provide pressurized water to the Wastewater Treatment Plant to allow for the installation of a permanent eyewash station and/or shower. This upgrade to the facility will mitigate the health and safety issues for staff that are present due to the use of chemical in the treatment process. It will also be utilized for general hygiene practices as the facility has no water for washing hands. Although municipal water is available to a portion of the Village, it is not available to the street on which the wastewater treatment plant is located and due to the topography, we would not be able to extend a watermain to this location. As a watermain cannot be extended to the wastewater treatment plant, this project would include drilling a well, submersible pump for well, lines from well into the Wastewater treatment plant and plumbing inside to incorporate a sink, eyewash and shower for health and safety reasons. This would also include a small hot water tank to ensure that tepid water is available for the eyewash and warm water for shower and sink. All of the work would be considered a Wastewater project because the watermain cannot be used and all work being completed is only for the wastewater treatment plant. It falls under the category of safer operations of the wastewater facility.
