Upgrade Water Supply Intake - Trout River
Sector: Water Supply and Storage • Location: Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Source: Infrastructure Canada
The project involves the rehabilitation of the armourstone along the outer bank of the Trout River for the purpose of bank stabilization. The river, which is the source of the community’s water supply, has slowly been meandering away from the existing intake system. Therefore, there is a risk that the intake system will not have the capacity to draw water from the river when water levels change.

Description
Description | The project involves the rehabilitation of the armourstone along the outer bank of the Trout River for the purpose of bank stabilization. The river, which is the source of the community’s water supply, has slowly been meandering away from the existing intake system. Therefore, there is a risk that the intake system will not have the capacity to draw water from the river when water levels change. The project aims to direct more water to the intake system by stabilizing the bank that will result in an accumulation of water. This will allow the intake system to continue operating, creating a reliable and sustainable supply of water for the residents of Trout River. |
