Upgrades and Expansions to the Existing Community Centre

The project will expand and upgrade the Chinese Cultural Centre located in the Scarborough area of Toronto. The work will involve increasing service space and expanding the capacity and accessibility of the Centre’s outdoor and indoor program and activity spaces: • Expanding and remodeling the open yard into new outdoor and indoor multi-purpose spaces fully integrated with the current facilities; • Remodeling and upgrading the audio-visual, sound and lighting at the front foyer to create a more welcoming and inclusive new drop-in and sitting area; • Remodeling the current library into a multi-purpose resource centre; • Improve accessibility for clients, volunteers, and staff with special needs by remodeling the operation office and installing accessible doors and universal washrooms; and • Upgrading the 626-seat theatre and Multi-purpose Hall, including new audio/video system and rigging for display screen, backup generator, and new lighting and rigging.
