Upgrades to the Harrow-Colchester South Water treatment plant including Low and High Lift Pumps, Motor Control Center Panel and Microstrainer
Sector: Water Supply and Storage • Location: Ontario, Canada
Source: Infrastructure Canada
I) Retrofit 4 old low lift pumps (75.8 L/s, 26.5 L/s, 75.8 L/s, and 90.8 L/s) with new high efficient pumps which include Variable Frequency Drives. This will result in more reliable and efficient operation of the system with less breakdown and, reduce energy and the carbon footprint. ii) Replace aging low lift and high lift Motor Control Center (MCC) Panels with new panels. This will result in mo

Description
Description | I) Retrofit 4 old low lift pumps (75.8 L/s, 26.5 L/s, 75.8 L/s, and 90.8 L/s) with new high efficient pumps which include Variable Frequency Drives. This will result in more reliable and efficient operation of the system with less breakdown and, reduce energy and the carbon footprint. ii) Replace aging low lift and high lift Motor Control Center (MCC) Panels with new panels. This will result in more reliable and efficient supply in the system with less breakdown and, reduce energy and the carbon footprint. Aging Motor Control Center panels are also becoming a major health & safety risk. iii) Retrofit 2 old high lift pumps (26.5 L/s, 68.2 L/s) and 1 backwash pump (113.7 L/s) with new high efficient pumps which Variable Frequency Drives. This will result in more reliable and efficient operation of the system with less breakdown and, reduce energy and the carbon footprint. iv) Replace the existing communication line between the low lift building and main building. It is becoming unreliable due to age and failure of this would directly impact the operations of the facility. v) Replace 1 existing microstrainer and associated Motor Control Center panel due to the age, the unit is becoming unreliable and replacement parts are not always available. This will result in a more reliable and efficient operation of the unit with less breakdown and reduce energy and the carbon footprint. |
