Upgrades to the water network and connection infrastructure (Honoré-Roy Street)

This project closes the loop on the water network in the Honoré-Roy street sector (Bellefleur, Champlain et Roland J. Martin) which will increase the quality of the potable water in this area. Additionally, the project will replace sections of sewer which will help the Town better manage wastewater by managing stormwater with surface water sewers; this completes this section of the Town and will increase the quality and the pressure of water in the sector. Like many of the regions in New Brunswick and Canada, housing is scarce. This project will augment the capacity of the Town to serve new dwellings which are currently in great demand in the region. Enormous efforts are underway in the forestry sector currently to attract new arrivals to the region to alleviate labour shortages. The objective is to add 10 dwelling units in the near future. These units have the potential to add 10 families to the region - 10 families who have the potential to add 20 workers to the local economy. The project scope includes the supply and installation of 330m of water mains, 210 meters of sanitary sewer pipe and 175m of surface water sewer. This project will increase the quality of potable water in the area and increase the Town’s capacity to manage stormwater and wastewater.
