Description	The Upper Afton wind farm project consists of 28 turbines, each 221.7 metres tall, rated to produce up to eight megawatts for a combined capacity of up to 176 megawatts. It is located between the communities of Upper Afton, Merland and New France in Antigonish County and is owned by Membertou First Nation and EverWind Holdings Ltd. Construction is planned to start in 2026 with the goal of producing energy by the end of 2028. The project will feed electricity to EverWind's proposed green hydrogen production facility in Point Tupper and can also feed the grid for use in Nova Scotia or export to other markets.
