The project will restore and revitalize the Upper Similkameen Indian Band’s Chuchuwayha Community Hall. This project is intended to create indoor space for the community and facilitate such gatherings and important cultural events that maintaining our traditions. This is especially important for Elders who have expressed a desire for a place to prepare food during cultural events, and for youth who currently lack a safe space to gather socially within the community. This project will renovate the community hall including: -New roof and repoint chimney - Repaint exterior - repair exterior porches and install guardrails - Install wheelchair ramps - Replace existing bathrooms - reinstate 12x windows; - update mechanical and electrical systems; and, - all related works.
