 Upper Trishuli 1 is a 216 MW run of river hydropower project on the Upper Trishuli river in Nepal (“UT1” or the “Project”), owned by a special purpose vehicle, Nepal Water & Energy Development Corporation (“NWEDC” or the “Company”) established under the laws of Nepal.  NWEDC is majority-owned by Korean sponsors: 50% by Korea South East Power Company (“KOEN”), 15% by Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. (“Daelim”) and 10% by Kyeryong Construction Industrial Co. Ltd. (“Kyeryong”) (KOEN, Daelim and Kyeryong are together the “Sponsors”). Through IFC InfraVentures, IFC has been co-developing the Project with a 15% stake since 2012.
