Description | Ur-Energy's Shirley Basin ISR mining operations in Wyoming commenced uranium-bearing solution capture from Mine Unit 1 on April 23, 2026. The project uses in situ recovery (ISR) technology to extract uranium by circulating a leach solution through the uranium-bearing aquifer and pumping uranium-laden solution to the surface for processing. The uranium-loaded resin is transported to Ur-Energy's Lost Creek facility for final processing into U3O8 yellowcake. The project has a licensed annual capacity of up to 2 million pounds U3O8 equivalent, with measured and indicated resources of approximately 9.1 million pounds U3O8 and an estimated mine life of about 9 years. |
