Description | Metals One Plc has signed an agreement with DISA Technologies Inc. to evaluate and potentially treat eight abandoned uranium mine waste dumps at the Uravan Belt Uranium-Vanadium Project in Colorado. The project covers 59 unpatented mining claims over approximately 490 hectares near the historic Buckhorn Mine. DISA will operate the project, covering all costs related to permitting, evaluation, treatment, and remediation, using its High-Pressure Slurry Ablation system through modular mobile plants. A treatability study showed the process removes on average 90% of uranium and radium-226 content from waste material. Next steps include a characterization program and completion of permits to commence treatment operations. |
