Urban Water Security Program

The development objective of the Urban Water Security Program for Mozambique is to increase access to improved water supply services and to improve service delivery capacity in selected cities. The program will support the implementation of the Urban Water Supply Investment Program (UWSIP) between 2023 and 2029, focusing on the expansion of access and performance improvement of water supply services. The program will also support the ongoing sector reform, which aims to engage the private sector in efforts to improve the performance of services and sustainability of operations with private sector participation (PSP). The program’s three result areas (RAs) are: (i) RA 1: improving the enabling environment for private sector participation; (ii) RA 2: sustainable and climate resilient service delivery (access); and (iii) RA 3: improvement of performance and efficiency of services.
