Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Urmodi Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 895.81 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Tender Award and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project This Project was included under ?Special Package of Central Assistance to complete 83 Surface Minor Irrigation [SMI] projects and 8 major/Medium Irrigation Projects? in suicide prone districts in Vidarbha and Marathwada and rest of Maharashtra region of the state of Maharashtra in July 2018. The Central Assistance provided is 25percentage reimbursement of expenditure incurred on works component by Government of Maharastra. The Urmodi Irrigation Project is one of the Major Irrigation project being constructed across river Urmodi, a right bank tributary of river Krishna near village Parali in Satara District, Maharashtra State. The Urmodi Irrigation Project contemplates to provide irrigation facilities to the command of 37000 ha through gravity flow canals with 118.6percentage irrigation intensity in Satara, Khatav and Man Talukas of Satara district which is a drought prone area. The project envisages construction of the following main components- i. 1860 m long and 51.10 m high earthen dam [Storage No. 1] across river Urmodi with a gross storage of 282.14 MCM. ii. A supplementary storage reservoir [named as Amble Dam] across Karhira Nallah, a tributary of Urmodi River at village Amble with a storage capacity of 8.574 MCM [Storage No.2]. During inclusion of Project under Special Package in 2018 Balance Cost of the project [works] as on 01/04/2017 was Rs 468.01 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 117.00 crore CA released till March-2023- Rs 38.25 crore Physical progress till March 2023- 56.13 percentage Financial Progress till March 2023 - 56.88 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 32000 Ha Irrigation Potential created till March 2023- 17964 Ha Projected Date of Completion- March 2024
