US 63 Improvement Project at Beaver Dam Lake

This project involves removing the existing box culvert carrying Beaver Dam Lake under US 63 and building a bridge with a longer span to replace it. The profile of US 63 will be raised slightly at the bridge location. The Lake Street Bridge will be removed and not replaced, making Lake Street no longer a through street. The project includes dredging Beaver Dam Lake under US 63 and the Lake Street Bridge to allow greater vertical and horizontal clearance for enhanced recreational boat traffic. An ATV trail will be built on the east side of US 63 from Arcade Avenue to Nedvidek Street, including a 10-foot lane for ATVs on the new bridge. US 63 will be reconstructed on both sides of the new bridge, along with portions of Lake Street, Nedvidek Street, and Babcock Avenue to match the raised profile of US 63. Curb, gutter, and sidewalk construction are also part of the project.
