The project would also include funding from the Texas Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) program awarded to the City of Rockdale to rehabilitate and/or replace the existing sidewalks, handicap ramps, railing, and lighting within the downtown area from Burleson St. to Ackerman St. (FM 487). Proposed improvements Resurface existing asphalt and replace curb and gutter, pedestrian facilities, and various drainage on US 79 Repaint lane markings to improve safety and provide smooth traffic transitions Convert four-lane sections to a three-lane sections - one lane in each direction with a center-turn lane throughout the project limits A detailed set of design plans and environmental study are being finalized. |
