Description

The purpose and need of this study was to increase capacity, improve multimodal accommodations, and address safety issues on the SR 30A (US 98/ Panama City Beach Parkway) corridor. Address operational deficiencies, congestion and delays on the mainline and at 12 intersections along Panama City Beach Parkway. The proposed improvements will consist of widening Panama City Beach Parkway to six lanes and the inclusion of sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of the roadway.Preferred “Build’ Concept: Six-Lane typical section from Mandy Lane to Thomas Drive. Includes 7-foot wide buffered bicycle lanes and five-foot wide sidewalks on both sides of SR 30A (US 98/ Panama City Beach Parkway). PUBLIC MEETINGS:- Public Kick-Off Meeting – April 21, 2016- Public Alternatives Workshop – February 16, 2017- Public Hearing – October 10, 2017Status: PD&E Study complete March 2018. FUNDING:For project has been divided into the following segments future funding of design and construction:- 217838-3: SR 30A from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street - Design: Funded FY 2019 - R/W: Funded FY 2023. Construction: Unfunded - 217838-4: East of Nautilus Street to east of Richard Jackson Boulevard - Design: Funded for FY 2020 - R/W: Unfunded. Construction: Unfunded- 217838-5: East of Richard Jackson Boulevard to west of CR 3031 - Design: Underway - R/W: Unfunded. Construction: Unfunded
