US-Brazil Goiás Critical Minerals Processing Partnership

planned

The United States and Brazil's Goiás state signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop critical minerals processing capabilities, particularly focusing on rare earth elements and other strategic minerals. The partnership aims to reduce Western dependence on Chinese rare earth processing by establishing integrated mining and processing operations in Goiás, including beneficiation, separation, purification, and downstream manufacturing facilities. The initiative includes technology transfer, workforce development, infrastructure investment, and financing mechanisms to support the development of processing facilities and supply chain diversification.
