The project includes expanding battery storage capacity to 600MW adjacent to the Sherco coal plant, adding 135.5MW of battery storage at the Blue Lake facility, and expanding Sherco Solar with an additional 200MW solar array. The total BESS deployed will be 735.5MW, using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology. Construction is planned to start in 2026 with operations by late 2027. |
