U.S. Nuclear Energy Industry Boost

Planned

U.S. President Donald Trump will sign executive orders aimed at jumpstarting the nuclear energy industry by easing the regulatory process for approvals of new reactors and strengthening fuel supply chains. The orders include invoking the Defense Production Act to declare a national emergency over U.S. dependence on Russia and China for enriched uranium and nuclear fuel processing, directing agencies to permit and site new nuclear facilities, and encouraging the use of loan guarantees and direct loans to increase reactor build-out.
