USA Rare Earth Mine-to-Magnet Supply Chain Development

planned

The project aims to establish domestic rare earth processing infrastructure in the United States, including separation and magnet manufacturing capabilities. Despite over $500 million federal investment, the U.S. faces significant technical, financial, and regulatory challenges in scaling from pilot to commercial scale operations, with no current commercial-scale facilities producing magnet-grade rare earth oxides or permanent magnets. The project includes plans for a Texas magnet facility and expansion of the Mountain Pass separation facility.
