Ust Kamenogorsk Poultry Farm (UKPF) is the regional poultry leader in Kazakhstan (15% of domestic production, 6% market share), serving the remote though populated northeast market, as well as Almaty and Astana and marginal export sales to Kyrgyzstan. The Company has substantially upgraded Soviet era facilities, and with its improved access to funding would be able to both increase its current output and improve its overall performance in other areas. The sponsor is committed to improve its E&S performance, is open to external advice and management, and is seeking the right partners to support its efforts. UKPF has an extensive investment program through KazAgroFinance, a local government-owned agricultural leasing company, and through IFC to: i) upgrade the parent stock and incubator facilities; ii) rehabilitate unused and currently inhabitable broiler sheds; ii) expand its distribution network to support sales of chilled products; iii) improve the bio-security, environmental management, and energy efficiency of the UKPF facility; and iv) reduce feed costs.
