Description | A coalition of conservation and public-interest organizations has submitted scoping comments opposing portions of the Bureau of Land Management’s Utah 2026 Third Quarter Competitive Oil and Gas Lease Sale. The opposition is due to the risks posed to the Old Spanish National Historic Trail in southeastern Utah by oil and gas leasing on parcels 1805, 1806, 1809, 7935, 7937, 7941, and 7947. The coalition argues that leasing should not proceed without full compliance with the National Trails System Act, including completion of a Comprehensive Management Plan and proper environmental review. |
