Description | Vineyard's redevelopment agency (RDA) was created in 2007 to clean up the old Geneva Steel site and develop Utah City, the future downtown core, on about 2,000 acres near Utah Lake. The RDA collects property tax revenue to fund redevelopment and expects to collect nearly $12.7 million in taxes in 2025. The project involves phased tax increment financing as different portions of the site become ready for development, with funds funneled to the RDA for 25 years. The city extended the RDA with no hard sunset date in 2023, following a 2020 state law carveout. |
