Information SPMG Uttarakhand has come up with Uttarakhand Sewerage Scheme in selected towns/Area under Environment Friendly Urban Development in Ganga States Phase -I Ganga Rejuvanation with a ticket size of 1200 INR Crores. This project in Sewage Collection, Treatment & Disposal sub-sector involves Implementation of Underground Sewerage Scheme The current status of the project is Work in Progress and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project 1. 100 Percent city wide sewer network coverage and Household connectivity leading to improved sanitation and hygienic conditions in the cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh. 2. Reduction in untreated flow of sewage in open drains leading to prevention of ground water and soil pollution due to infiltration of untreated sewage. 3. Improvement in water quality of River Ganga thereby having a positive impact on flora and fauna of river.
