The Development Objective of the Second Phase (APL-2) of the OSE Modernization & Systems Rehabilitation Project of Uruguay is to ensure Uruguayans receive more accountable, customer orientated and better value for money, water and sanitation services. The Project has 4 components. Component 1 will support National Water Supply and Sanitation Company (OSE's) institutional renewal through institutional modernization; technological updates and optimization of organizational processes; and investments in regional infrastructure. Component 2 will improve the reliability of OSE's water supply system by finalizing the rehabilitation of the Aguas Corrientes water treatment plant and rolling out an extensive unaccounted for water reduction program. Component 3 will continue the demand driven expansion of the sewerage system, whilst developing strategies to enhance household connections to the existing network. Component 4 will support project management; supervision and engineering support; staff exchanges and seminars; and audits.
