Vaccination programme funding in cooperation with GAVI (bilateral contribution)

The FC project aims to promote the national vaccination program (Expanded Program on Immunization, EPI) and to strengthen the health system in Pakistan. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the multilateral organization Gavi Alliance (Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunization). In addition to reducing the still high child mortality rate, the aim of the project is to reduce the burden of disease and to strengthen the capacity of the state health system. The FC measure includes the financing of various vaccines against infectious diseases, which are procured by Gavi via UNICEF and administered free of charge to children by public health facilities in Pakistan. These measures are to be supported with FC funds amounting to EUR 20.0 million as part of the bilateral provision over the implementation period (period of the programs defined by Gavi in Pakistan) in 2018 and 2019.
