Vadhvan Port Project

The Vadhvan Port Project is set to be India's largest port, with a planned capacity to handle 23 million containers annually by the end of the decade. The $9 billion port is owned mainly by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Maharashtra Maritime Board. The project aims to raise up to ₹300 billion ($3.5 billion) in long-term debt with tenors of 15 to 20 years, considering both onshore and offshore markets. The project includes reclaiming 1,200 hectares of land and is expected to be completed toward the end of the decade. It will have a natural depth of 20 meters, allowing some of the largest container ships to dock, and will serve as a starting point for the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor, a planned economic link for new trade routes.
