Information Water Resources Department, Govt. of A.P has come up with Vamsadhara and Nagavali River Flood Banks Development Project with a ticket size of 1055.6 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Work for Formation of flood bank on Vamsadhara and nagavali rivers was sanctioned to protect the river side villages,ayacut lands,residential areas from that occurres every year.The work was devided into 06 no of packages. 04 packages on vamsadhara and 2 on nagavali river. the 04 packages on vamsadhara rivers covrs 11 mandals in srikkaulam district. 02 packages on nagavali river covers 08 mandals in srikakulam and vizianagaram districts. The work for vamsadhara package 1 & 2 were kept on hold as per the Government instructions issued vide Govt. U.O.Note No. FMU0ASD WR1/ 80/2019 Comp No.898809, Dt.29.05.2019 since the expenditure incurred is less than 25 percentage.The package-3 was the contract was terminated by the Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Circle, Srikakulam vide Letter No.311-M/ Dt.09.07.2019 due to unlawful practices followed by the agency. For the other 03 packages were preclosed by the government vide G.O Rt No.365 Water Resources Projects.III Department, Dated 08-7-2020.
