The initiative aims to fast-track non-profit and government-run housing developments by eliminating the rezoning step, allowing projects to proceed as of right under new blanket zoning rules. It affects roughly one-third of Vancouver for 15-20 storey towers and another one-fifth for 6-storey buildings, with the policy to be codified into the Official Development Plan (ODP). |
