Description | The project involves constructing the country's first Vande Bharat train sleeper coach maintenance facility at Bhagat Ki Kothi Railway station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The facility includes a 600-metre track to maintain 24 sleeper coaches, a dedicated wheel rack system, a specialised testing laboratory, and simulators for training and evaluating high-tech equipment. The depot can inspect and maintain three trains simultaneously and will have advanced machinery for lifting train rakes, transferring bogies, and wheel-turning systems. The project is executed by North Western Railway with Railway Vikas Nigam Limited and Kinet Railway Solution as technology partners. |
