Description

Indian Railways is launching its first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, a semi high-speed sleeper train comprising 16 coaches with AC First Class, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier. The train will carry 1,128 passengers and operate at a top speed of 180 kmph, featuring world-class amenities including integrated reading lights with USB charging, automated announcement and visual information systems, security cameras, modular pantries, disabled-friendly berths and toilets, and hot water showers in First AC coaches. A dedicated Vande Bharat Sleeper coach depot and workshop is being built near a railway station in Bengaluru to maintain and inspect these trains. Additionally, Indian Railways is planning two new passenger terminals near Devanahalli and Nelamangala.
