Description | Vardhman Special Steels Limited (VSSL), in a joint venture with Aichi Steel Corporation (ASC), Japan, will set up a new greenfield special and alloy steel plant in Ludhiana, Punjab. The plant will have an installed capacity of 5 lakh tonnes per annum of alloy and special steel, catering to domestic and global automotive industries. Production will use the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route for energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. An additional Rs 500 crore solar power plant will be set up to ensure renewable energy use for the plant's operations. The project aims to create over 1,500 direct jobs and generate significant indirect employment and business opportunities for MSMEs, suppliers, and service providers across Punjab. |
