Description | The Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd (KRDCL) is undertaking a project to widen the SH-35 state highway from Varthur to Gunjur, expanding the road from 30 metres to 100 metres over a 1.9 km stretch. Alongside this, a flyover is proposed from Vinayaka Theatre to Varthur lake to ease traffic congestion. The project has faced opposition from residents who prefer Metro connectivity over the flyover. The total project cost is Rs 482 crore, with Rs 190 crore allocated for the flyover. Despite ongoing discussions about Metro connectivity, construction of flyover pillars has begun, even before land acquisition is complete. |
