Description

Description

Procurement of approximately 51 Heavy Duty Battery Electric Buses. Heavy Duty BEBs will be 40-foot low-floor accessible buses with a minimum seated capacity of 40 passengers, with minimum 675 kWh batteries for an operating range of 375km or better. Buses will be equipped with plug-in ports for depot charging, heat pump for onboard HVAC, and supplemented with Diesel auxiliary heating. BEBs will have an expected service life of 13 years. BEBs will be equipped with all passenger and operator safety features currently in service with the BC Transit fleet, including interior and exterior CCTV; and with passenger convenience features including NextRide visual/audio stop notification. These buses will replace existing fleet that will have reached end of life, reducing the reliance on diesel-fueled vehicles and supporting CleanBC targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
