Description | Shell is considering taking final investment decisions for one or more natural gas projects focused on Venezuela. The strategy is initially geared towards gas monetised through liquefied natural gas (LNG). The Dragon gas development, an offshore field with an estimated 4.2 trillion cubic feet of gas, is the centrepiece of this strategy, involving development with three initial wells and a 16-kilometre subsea pipeline linking the field to Shell’s liquefaction and export infrastructure in Trinidad. Shell has signed technical and commercial agreements with Venezuelan engineering company Vepica, KBR, and Baker Hughes to support these projects. |
