Description
Description | Venom Films is a multi award-winning production company based in Dublin, Ireland, specialising in high end creative documentaries. Established in 2006 by producer Andrew Freedman and director Ken Wardrop, the company has been highly acclaimed internationally, producing films such as, the European Academy Award-winning ‘Undressing My Mother’, the Sundance-winning ‘His & Hers’, and the IFTA winning ‘Mom & Me’. As well as other previous titles screening at major film festivals including Cannes, Berlinale and Toronto. The company has also successfully co-produced many films including Michael Madsen’s ‘The Visit’, and Kieran Evan’s BAFTA winning ‘Kelly + Victor’. Their most recent co-production, ‘Katie’, directed by Ross Whitaker has been widely received on streaming platforms such as NetflixUK. Venom Films are the lead producer of this slate and are responsible for all aspects of its development and delivery. We are currently working with an array of exciting filmmaking talents on our all-documentary slate. We believe our proposed slate is successful in reaching the objectives set out in this call; striking a balance between artistic merit and promotion of culture and measurable economic potential, have the ability to breakthrough in this competitive landscape, provide Venom with the opportunity to enhance its cooperation with European and international partners. Through support of our current slate, it would also allow Venom to grow its scale of productions, including the development of our first-ever documentary series, and also to nurture new talent through our proposed short documentary film which is helmed by an all-female creative team. In the following pages of our application we hope to demonstrate this. |
