IFC will lend a total amount of up to US$10 million to provide individual loans to selected suppliers in Bangladesh (“Suppliers”) of VF Corporation (“VF” or the “Group”) to finance their medium term capital expenditures -such as building structure upgrades or fire safety improvements. The suppliers to be financed under this project have undergone Structural, Electrical and Fire safety (SE&Fs)assessments under the Alliance protocol, and the funds are intended to implement corrective actions derived from these assessments (the “SE&Fs Action Plan”).VF is a leading apparel and footwear company owning more than 30 brands (including Timberland, The North Face and Wrangler). VF will select Suppliers eligible for the proposed financing program based on the outcome of the Structural, Electrical and Fire safety assessments carried out. The Suppliers will implement the corrective actions defined in the Action Plan from the assessment and VF will confirm full implementation using third party companies
