Description | The Vicuña Project is a large-scale mining development comprising the Filo del Sol and Josemaria deposits, held by a 50/50 joint arrangement between Lundin Mining and BHP. The project is planned to be developed in three stages, starting with the construction of a sulphide mill and open-pit mine at the Josemaría deposit, followed by development of the Filo del Sol leachable oxides and SX/EW plant, and culminating in expansion of the concentrator and development of the Filo del Sol sulphide deposit along with key district infrastructure including a desalination plant and pipelines. The project aims to be a top five copper, gold, and silver mine with a multi-generational life of over 70 years and significant free cash flow generation. |
