Video and Sound Engineering Skills Training Program

This project involves the design and piloting of a skills training program in video and sound engineering to complement and build on SERVOL's existing technical and life skills training programs for at risk youth in Trinidad and Tobago's marginalised communities. The objective is expand availability of certified technical /skilled workers for the ICT sector in Trinidad and Tobago, specifically in the areas of multimedia content production. The project also seeks to ensure the continued relevance of SERVOL's skills training programs through the introduction of certified training courses that are in demand by industry and of interest to SERVOL's targeted beneficiaries ¿ at risk youthThis project supports private sector development, which is identified as a priority in the Bank's current Country Strategy Paper for Trinidad and Tobago. The skills development program also supports "Use of ICT" and "Skills standards" which are both defined as priority areas for the MIF Delegation of Authority program (MIF/GN-62-5). In addition the project directly contributes to "Labour and Youth Employment", a strategic area of focus defined by COF/CTT in development of a plan for implementation of the MIF Delegation of Authority program in Trinidad and Tobago. The project also complements the "At Risk Community and Youth Development" component of the Citizen Security program (TTL1003) that is currently in development.
