The project involves the development, construction, and operation of the 100.5MW Vientos Neuquinos I wind farm located near Bajada Colorada, approximately 40 km northeast of the town of Piedra del Aguila in Neuquen Province, Argentina. The farm will sell its output to large consumers under PPAs through the renewable energy term market (MATER). The sponsor is AES Corporation and the SPV is Vientos Neuquinos I SA. The project cost is $ 171 million. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) provided $122.6 million loan. In 2020, the sponsor announced that will issue a bond in amount of $ 48.4 to cover to cost of the project. Financial close was announced on 11 September 2019.
