Description | Vietnam-Lao Power JSC, from Vietnam, was planning the development of the 160 MW (66 + 96) Xekanman 4 hydropower plant, near Xekong. The capacity was also reported as 80 MW, by the government of Laos in 2011. Part of the production was expected to be exported to Vietnam. The MOU was signed in November 2006, renewed in May 2008 and expired in February 2009. The feasibility study was reported as ongoing by the government of Laos, in 2011. Construction was expected to start late-2011. The feasibility study was submitted to the Lao government in April 2011.
