Description | The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a US$106.51 million loan to support the development of the five Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (VDTA) provinces — Binh Phuoc, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum — through road rehabilitation and capacity development efforts to boost tourism and transport connectivity as well as domestic and international trade. The project will upgrade 236.7 km of national and provincial roads in the 5 provinces, as well as 26.6 km of strategic roads linking border crossings with Cambodia and Lao PDR. As well as boosting trade and transport, the project will enhance road safety-awareness among at least 32,000 vulnerable road users by the time of its estimated completion at the end of 2022. |
