Village of Alma - New Municipal Wells and Related Infrastructure

This project consists of planning and preparing for new municipal wells in the Village of Alma, New Brunswick. The scope of work will include: preliminary site assessments; an environmental and impact assessment; preliminary drilling; hydraulic testing; hydrogeological environmental impact assessment; construction of access roads; and well pads (two observation wells and two production wells). The existing water system has been prone to recurring boil water advisories for many years due to high turbidity levels. The addition of a second municipal well is required to reduce pumping time of the current well. This will also provide a backup source in the event that either well becomes unusable.
