Village of Hodgeville - Water Well and Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Hodgeville’s water treatment plant produces water which meets all regulated drinking water quality guidelines, however, does not meet drinking water aesthetic objectives for Sulphate, Conductivity, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, and Sodium. The sodium hypochlorite dosage used exceeds the maximum usage limit for the system. In March 2022, the Water Security Agency of Saskatchewan placed two conditions on the Permit to Operate for the Village’s water treatment plant: - Plan by 2024 - Complete by 2027 The Village hired Spring Creek Consulting in October 2022 to complete a Waterworks Upgrade Plan which identified options for upgrades and recommendations on which Waterworks upgrades would suit the Village’s needs. Based on the report, the village will proceed with: - Drilling two (2) new groundwater wells into a deep aquifer; and - Construct a new reverse osmosis (RO) membrane treatment system housed in an expansion of the existing WTP.
