Description

Description

Project involves removal of interior walls, replacement of separate entrance and exit doors, relocating electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure, upgrading the air quality control and repair/replacement of flooring and ceiling finishing - in order to resize the existing entrance and front section of the main lobby. Retrofitting the existing facility that is owned by the Village of Muenster will provide a trusted, safe space that is conducive to physical distancing that is safely and reliably supported with clean, heated air via efficient air quality control mechanisms. The following objectives will be met: support of physical distancing; approx. 1200 square feet of pre-existing space will be opened up to enable one entry and one exit without any overlap via the removal of two walls; retrofitting old heating/cooling and electrical systems; new plumbing; support job creation and build stronger communities; replace aging heating units and installing air quality controls; efficiently and effectively heating the space will be accomplished with two heating units to service the 2800 square feet two story facility; filtration of the air via the furnace, air conditioning unit and the air exchanger will aid in removing airborne particles; enlarging one existing room will enable traffic patterns that can maintain social distancing as people enter/exit and move about during activities; retrofitting spaces to include sanitization stations throughout the facility will decrease the possibility of transmission. Project will have a large impact on local and regional economy; creating 10+ jobs, creating energy efficient facilities that can be used long term, promote healthy lifestyles and positive mental health habits, as well as build interest/opportunity within the region.
