Description | VinFast, a Vietnamese Electric Vehicle manufacturer, inaugurated its electric vehicle assembly plant at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The plant spans 400 acres and includes state-of-the-art production lines with advanced automation and multiple workshops such as Body Shop, Paint Shop, Assembly Shop, Quality Control Centre, and a Logistics Hub. Initially, it will assemble two premium electric SUV models with a starting capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year, scalable to 150,000 units annually. The plant aims to create 3,000-3,500 direct jobs and boost socio-economic development in Tamil Nadu, positioning the state as a manufacturing hub and potential EV capital of South Asia. |
