Description | This project comprises the development of the country's first fully-electric public transport bus fleet and national electric vehicle charging network. It aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and expand high-tech manufacturing industries in Vietnam. Sponsor of the project is VinFast Trading and Production Joint Stock Company (VinFast). The investment comes under a 7-year tenor climate financing and stands at $135 million in total, of which $20 million loan is provided by the ADB, $87 million comes as parallel loans facilitated by ADB as mandated lead arranger, supported by Export Finance Australia, the Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation, Oesterreichische Entwicklungsbank AG and ResponsAbility, and concessional financing of up to $28 million, supported by Australian Climate Finance Partnership ($20 million loan), Clean Technology Fund ($5 million loan) and Climate Innovation and Development Fund ($3 million grant).
