Vingroup's 60,000 EV Fleet Deployment and Urban Infrastructure Development in Maharashtra

Vietnam's largest conglomerate Vingroup has signed a $6.5 billion memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government to deploy 60,000 electric vehicles and develop large-scale urban infrastructure across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The investment includes a $1.5 billion electric mobility component with deployment of the EV fleet through a mobility-as-a-service platform, development of charging infrastructure, and a digital mobility platform. Additionally, Vingroup plans to develop nearly 5,000 acres over two years for integrated urban townships, renewable energy projects, tourism infrastructure, international-standard schools, multi-speciality hospitals, and a 500-megawatt solar power project.
