Description | The program will support active, enhanced surveillance to monitor the burden of acute and chronic viral hepatitis disease through core surveillance of acute hepatitis A, B, C, and chronic hepatitis B and C. This program addresses the "Healthy People 2020" focus area(s) of Immunization and Infectious Diseases: - IID-1.3 Reduce, eliminate, or maintain elimination new hepatitis B cases among persons 2 to 18 years;- IID-15 Increase hepatitis B vaccine coverage among high-risk populations;- IID-25.1 Reduce hepatitis B infections in adults aged 19 and older;- IID-25.2 Reduce hepatitis B infections among high risk populations - injection drug users;- IID-25.3 Reduce hepatitis B infections among high risk populations - men who have sex with men;- IID-26 Reduce new hepatitis C infections; and - IID-27 Increase the percentage of persons aware they have hepatitis C infectionhttp://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topicsobjectives2020/overview.aspx?topicid=23. |
