Virgin Galactic Delta Class Space Plane

Virgin Galactic is developing its new Delta Class suborbital space planes, with research and private astronaut flights expected to commence in fall 2026. The project includes construction of the Delta Class SpaceShip fuselage, wing assembly, and a novel feathering system for reentry stability. Final assembly will take place at Virgin Galactic's Delta facility near Phoenix, Arizona. The Delta Class spaceships are designed to fly eight space missions per month, with twelve times the monthly payload capacity of the original spaceship, VSS Unity. The company is also conducting a feasibility study for a second spaceport in Italy and exploring the use of its mothership aircraft as a carrier platform for other spacecraft.
